Prints from NYC Fall 2011RTW

Suno is a fairly new line based in Kenya and created  by Max Osterweis.  I recently  read a Vogue article about how the line is produced and why Max chooses to produce most of the line  in Kenya. The article was very well written and I really do admire the work that  Suno is  doing.  Rather than produce in China or areas were there are a lot of cost advantages ( cheap labor, low tariffs and raw materials),  they have decided to create a fair trade environment by purchasing  fabric from the Kenyans and training local artisans to create the garments.  I also, really enjoy the use of diversity in the presentations: the prints really stand out against dark skin tones.

                                                      LIBERTINE

Libertine used to be one of the lines that I looked forward to seeing during NY fashion week. Although, I hadn't seen  anything from the line in a while,  now  it's back and better than ever. This collection was amazing and  the mixing of prints is really something to talk about!
